PLATINUM PUNCHING & STAMPING OIL is a high-oxidation-inhibited mineral oil used for hardening steel and various steel alloys. Special chemical add-ons had been formulated into this medium to minimize fire hazard from oil flash. Suitable for punching, stamping and in some cases, result to better annealing finish of alloys steels operating at 190°C flash point, provides a good hardening characteristics.

Application

PLATINUM PUNCHING & STAMPING OIL is used at a desired temperature in which items are punching and placed for periods of time to allow partial relief of punching stresses, partial restoration of toughness and ductility and to obtain other metallurgical improvements. The industry-accepted method is to place the oil in a suitable container with a hinged top lid. The required volume of oil is deposited in the container and heated or cooled as the case maybe, to the desired punching temperature suitable for the work piece and operator’s specifications. The work piece is dipped into or left submerged in the oil for a given time to allow partial relief of punching stresses and restoration of toughness and ductility of the work piece.
